Child protection
DESTINY INTERNATIONAL COLLEGE fully recognises its responsibilities for child protection and safeguarding the welfare of children in its care. Teachers and other school staff are well positioned to observe the outward signs of abuse, changes in behaviour or failure to develop of children because of their day to day contact with individual children during the school terms. “The welfare of the child is paramount.”
Three main elements to our child protection policy:
- Prevention by creating a safe and supportive school atmosphere and pastoral oversight given to pupils/students in accordance with the School’s mission and values and the Christian commitment we embrace.
- Protection by following agreed on procedures, ensuring staff are trained and granted necessary support to respond appropriately and sensitively to child protection concerns.
- Support for pupils who may have been abused or at risk of any significant harm.
- Model a contemporary workplace at the School that is faith-filled, collaborative, consultative, and lawfully compliant in
