I remember, vividly, that Samuel could hardly pass the DIC entrance examination about when he wrote it. It was so bad that the school management were reluctant at offering him admission but for the intervention of the CEO, Rev. (Mrs) Oyenike Areogun. Within his first year at DIC, he sat for DELF (Diplôme d’études en langue française) examination, an international French examination and came top with 79%. His performance in the WAEC ‘O’ level examination which he sat for when he was in SS2 and which we learnt he had a short time (2 weeks) to prepare for, as well as the Cambridge ‘O’ Level examination which he cleared all at one sitting with good grades (distinctions and credit), have proven us wrong.
